病变描述
阴道间质肥大（stromal hypertrophy）的特征是阴道壁纤维肌性间质（fibromuscular stroma）因细胞体积增大而非细胞数量增多而增厚（Figure 1、Figure 2）。间质肥大必须与肿瘤性病变相鉴别，后者与细胞数量增多有关，形成离散的、局灶性（focal）的、压迫性或浸润性肿块。其他鉴别诊断包括阴道息肉（vaginal polyp），这是一种外生性病变，主要由被覆正常或轻度角化过度上皮的纤维肌性核心构成；以及子宫内膜间质息肉（endometrial stromal polyp），这是另一种外生性病变，常经宫颈突出并出现于阴道。

Stromal hypertrophy of the vagina is characterized by thickening of the fibromuscular stroma of the vaginal wall due to an increase in the size of cells, not the number of cells ( Figure 1 and Figure 2 ). Stromal hypertrophy must be differentiated from neoplastic lesions, which are associated with an increased number of cells forming a discrete, focal, compressive or invasive mass. Other differential diagnoses include vaginal polyp, which is an exophytic lesion composed predominantly of a fibromuscular core covered by normal or slightly hyperkeratinized epithelium, and endometrial stromal polyp, another exophytic lesion that commonly projects through the cervix and appears in the vagina.
Recommendation：
Vagina - Hypertrophy, Stromal should be diagnosed and graded whenever present.
