病变描述
肾乳头表面上皮增生（hyperplasia of the surface epithelium of the renal papilla）的范围可从上皮增厚（Figure 1，箭头）到上皮大小不等的向外生长并伴有细胞间透亮间隙（Figure 2）。有时，这些间隙含有嗜酸性物质或细胞。该病变常见于晚期慢性进行性肾病（参见肾脏 - 肾病，慢性进行性）。

Comment：
Hyperplasia of the surface epithelium of the renal papilla can range from thickening of the epithelium ( Figure 1 , arrows) to variably sized outgrowths of the epithelium with clear spaces amid the cells ( Figure 2 ). Sometimes, these spaces contain eosinophilic material or cells. This lesion is commonly observed with advanced chronic progressive nephropathy (see Kidney - Nephropathy, Chronic Progressive ).
Recommendation：
Hyperplasia of the renal papillary epithelium should be diagnosed and given a severity grade whenever present. Related Links: Kidney - Urothelium - Hyperplasia
